Scandinavian Barn-Style House - Modern House Plans (2024)

Our new modern Scandinavian barn house comes with a minimalist and modern look that offers spacious and tranquil living. This two-story home accommodates 5,500 sq ft of heated living space. The garage area is 760 sq ft, and the optional covered porch on the rear side is 325 sq ft. The shape of this modern barn house is simply rectangular with high pitched roofs.

Generally, this Scandinavian barn house plan is suitable for a countryside living, or for a site near nature. But the layout of the house is also suitable for a land with wide frontage and large backyard space that can accommodate spacious outdoor living.

In order to seamlessly blend the building in with the surrounding nature, the house is equipped with high ceilings and large glass door-windows. The glass door-windows, which are mostly located on the rear side, would also create transparencies throughout the house to capture natural lights into the interior spaces. Meanwhile, the house has either small windows or minimal number of windows facing the street and neighbor sides for privacy reasons.
