Blizzard has warned fans that many of its online games will be going down for maintenance early next week, including Diablo 4, World of Warcraft, and others. The library of the California-based developer boasts some of the most beloved online games and franchises, with World of Warcraft standing as arguably the most iconic MMORPG of all time. Diablo 4 also recently reached a major milestone, breaking its concurrent player count record on Steam twice following the launch of Season 4. Now, Blizzard's online services will be affected by maintenance in the near future.
With many of Blizzard's most popular games being strictly online experiences, temporary outages are nothing new for the massively popular studio. The developer will regularly use server outages to address major bugs and issues within games, most recently seeing Overwatch 2 going down last week. New updates to their games also typically require maintenance, shutting down for a period to implement more content into the game without disrupting players. The newest outage period from Blizzard looks to be a planned round of maintenance from the developer.

Overwatch 2 players are understandably upset, as it appears that the game has gone down and can't be accessed at this time.
As reported by ComicBook, an official announcement from Blizzard confirms that several of its online games and services will be going down for data center maintenance soon. The downtime is planned for June 24 with the scheduled outages for each of its games and services lasting from 6:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. PDT. The affected services include Blizzard's own Battle.net client and shop, as well as most of its games including World of Warcraft, Diablo 4, Hearthstone, and Call of Duty among others. Blizzard has confirmed that some partially offline games may still be available with limited features during the maintenance.

The statement from Blizzard also shares more details about the scope of the maintenance being done by the studio. The maintenance will be largely focused on the developer's "infrastructure in the Americas region," though the game's global services will be affected. The restrictions between different games on Battle.net will also be varied, with some games not accepting new logins and others entirely unavailable during the Blizzard data center maintenance.
Blizzard's upcoming maintenance comes as several of the developer's biggest games have exciting updates on the way soon. Diablo 4 looks to have multiple new seasons coming soon, with Season 5 adding a new endgame mode and Season 6 bringing the Vessel of Hatred expansion and a new class in Spiritborn. World of Warcraft has its next major expansion on the way as well, with The War Within expected to launch next month. Fans of Blizzard look to have plenty in store with a plethora of new content on the way.
